Building relationships: another reason Dentus gives you to smile. It's very rewarding to know our patients and their families, and to be able to experience the gratification of helping them to have a healthy smile. So, we felt it was important to let you get to know a little about those who will be providing your care. Our dentists and staff at Dentus are all eager to learn more about you.
Jacqueline Angell, DDS
A.K.A. "Doctor Angell"

Along with her warm personality and gentle chairside manner, Dr. Angell brings us more than 10 years of experience, and a progressive perspective on dentistry. Skilled in treating patients of all ages, Dr. Angell uses techniques that will comfort those who experience anxiety during their visit. In addition to general dental care, she has special experience and training in dental reconstruction, with a conservative approach to saving and repairing damaged teeth. Indicative of the "heart" Dr. Angell puts into her practice is the time she has invested in philanthropic causes in America and abroad.
Dr. Angell boasts a colorful education history, including the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and the University of Alaska, where she studied moose populations through an advanced environmental course. She also studied bonding techniques in the Netherlands, where almagum is banned, giving her a greater knowledge of tooth-colored restorations.
In the short term, Dr. Angell looks forward to building her first wooden kayak (she's almost finished), and brewing her first batch of India Pale Ale. Looking ahead further, she hopes to spend significant time in Africa, volunteering her time and skill in areas where dental care is most lacking.

Kirk Shillinger, DDS
A.K.A. "Doctor Kirk"

"Dr. Kirk" was born and raised in Aberdeen, WA. He attended the University of Washington, graduating with a degree in Zoology. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, graduating in 2000. After returning home to the Northwest to begin his career, he joined Dentus in 2007 as an associate and then became an owner /partner in 2009. He happily makes his home in Vancouver with his wife Sara, daughters Audrey(4) and Eliza(1), and an energetic Labrador Retriever named Daisy.
He enjoys all facets of general dentistry and loves the variety that it brings. "I am not the type of person who can do the same thing all day, every day. I need variety, and being a general dentist provides it for me. I can do an extraction, a filling, and a crown in the morning, and a root canal, a veneer case, and a denture in the afternoon. That, to me, is ideal."
He is also very proud of the staff that works at Dentus. "I feel very lucky to work with such a great group of people. Everyone here is not only very good at their jobs, but are also wonderful and caring people. They are responsible for the great atmosphere here at the office and make practicing dentistry easier and more enjoyable."
When not working in the office, Dr. Kirk enjoys spending time with his family; watching basketball, football and soccer; reading; and is now starting to fish again since he sadly can no longer play golf due to back problems. He volunteers at the Vancouver Free Clinic and also enjoys working with assistants-in-training at the Clark County Skills Center.
